Wickaninnish driftwood, root bar.  Wood Liquor bar

Back in 2003 Cedar Images was commissioned to do a giant driftwood bar for the the Driftwood Coffee Lounge at Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, BC. It is a 14 foot maple with an 8 foot wide root  covered with an a round glass top.

For Rhonda and Christopher this was a challenge of a life time. There was nothing level on the whole piece and using a variety of tecniques had to make it sit level on a preconstructed bar 8 feet wide and 28 inches deep. The bar is cut flat at the top and grooved 4 iches down and 14 inches deep. This was a monumental task which they completed and as you can see they are very proud of.

The Wickaninnish Inn is a premier world destiantion in Tofino Bc. This was a crowning achivement for this partnership. The piece made The Architectural Digest Magazine. If you are ever in Tofino go check out The Wickaninnish Inn .

Rhonda and Christopher then took the same idea and did a 14 foot long root bar for their galllery.
It is an old growth red cedar. It has a 7 foot wide root ball and sits on an 8 foot wide preconstructed bar. They are proud to have it as the center pice of the Cedar Images gift Shoppe.
